Driver's licence:
A full licence held for minimum of 1 years with no major endorsements. UK licence holders need to present the photocard. International Driving Permit is required. International Driving Permit must be accompanied by the original domestic licence of the driver. Before you leave for Japan, please make sure your driving permit is valid to drive in Japan. Please be advised that if you present an invalid driving permit at the time of pick-up, we CANNOT rent you a vehicle for any reason. International Driving Permit (IDP) issued based under Geneva Convention on International Road Traffic of 1949 is the only IDP accepted to drive in Japan. For those whose local driving licence is issued in France, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Monaco, Belgium or Taiwan, the local driving licence accompanied by its official translation documents is accepted. Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to rent a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section.
